Valentine’s Day In South Korea

Valentine's DayI’m sure we are all familiar with Valentine’s day and many if not the majority of the world celebrates it. It is a popular romantic holiday around the world. Well in South Korea, Valentine’s day takes on a different meaning. Most countries the guys are the ones who cater to the women on this day. Making sure they have flowers, chocolate, a card and a nice dinner planned. In South Korea, the day is designed for the men. Yep that’s right it’s a holiday that is all about the men.

How to Succeed in Nerium

Success is a mindset.

If you partner with Nerium, then your mindset MUST be of success. This business is so so so simple but not always easy. Again our system IS simple…..

Be coachable. Number 1 you must must must, listen to your sponsor. They know more than you do. We can’t do the work for you, you must take our advice seriously. It is okay to communicate how you are feeling about certain things.

Training/welcome call. Absolutely without any question, completing the New Brand Partner Training is the FIRST step towards success. I expect a new Brand Partner to complete it in the first 24 hours. A welcome call is also very important so the new person in the organization is welcomed. They feel a connection with someone other than their sponsor.Nerium International

Everything has a Genesis…. a beginning. After my first-born son was born, I desired more than anything a new beginning.

For those of you who do not know me, my name is Tanya I live in Oregon and I am married to the beautiful man, Eric in our family photo. We have two amazing, beautiful, witty, and blessed boys!!!

So as I mentioned, I needed, I desired, with everything in me a new beginning. One in which I had choices. Freedom to do what my heart was telling me I needed to do.

I needed to be home with my son. I needed it so bad it hurt. I will never ever, ever forget the feeling I had after he was born. The love that a parent has for their child is so intense, so much greater than anything that I had ever experienced before.

It was so bad; I couldn’t even sleep at night (when he was asleep) because I had to constantly check to make sure he was okay. Any moms out there reading this, can you relate?

I am not going to lie, I was so blessed to be home with him for almost 6 months and trust me when I say, I enjoyed every minute of it because I knew those precious days were numbered, I did.

I am sharing my heart with all of you who read this……

At Nerium International’s October conference, we were blessed to have John C. Maxwell as one of our guest speakers. He was absolutley amazing to say the least……..

I have been reading THE 21 IRREFUTABLE LAWS OF LEADERSHIP written by him. Earlier today I had a rare moment to myself while Eric took the boys on a walk. I decide to grab my book and read the 11th law, The Law of The Inner Circle..

Posture is a new word for me. Another paradigm shift of many that I have had since joining Nerium International 9 months ago. Posture is how you view yourself, the way you carry yourself, what you put out is what you get back. Thus how you are perceived and in turn treated by others.

For example, I used to be this not so confident person, so I carried myself that way, that is what I put out there to people, and guess what? That is what they thought of me.

True story:

Back To School

It is that time of year again when teachers are returning to work to prepare for their incoming students. Teaching is a selfless, mentally challenging, physically draining job. It takes the right kind of person to be able to withstand the test of time.

I began teaching for a couple of reasons.

  1. I love kids
  2. I wanted to help inspire and make a difference in their lives and their futures
  3. Help them understand how important learning is

After my kids were born, as I have already stated in another post, I wanted to stay home with them. But after some self reflection I realized that I was burned out from teaching the stress of the job year-after-year was not what I had envisioned for my life, and I just don’t function very well with too much stress.

As I began to work on becoming a better version of myself through personal development, it made me question why education has to be so so difficult. I realize now how broken our education system is. It is truly sad because so many teacher burn out and leave the profession right around the 5 year mark.

Fortunately for me, I wanted to be the best mom I can be to my own kids and working in a school district with 84% of families in poverty was a challenge each and every day. However, until I found a way to replace my teaching income I had to teach.

I am so so grateful that this year I am not going back to teaching. I know it sounds bad, but like I said I need to be present for my own kids first. They are my first priority. While I loved the kids I taught during the 7 years I was a teacher, I am so grateful not to have to go back to the most stressful job that I have ever had. Thank you to Nerium International for allowing this to happen, Thank you to my husband for standing by me, thank you for all of our business partners, customers, future business partners and customers!

To all the teachers out there, I found this quote: Teaching is more than imparting knowledge, it is inspiring change. Learning is more that absorbing facts, it is acquiring understanding. by William Arthur Ward

I love this quote because I think it is perfect for our society as a whole. Teachers inspire change, and regardless of your age, you can learn each and every single day by seeking knowledge, absorbing it and allowing it to give you a knew depth of knowledge.

I wish that more people embraced this in their lives and instilled it in their children’s lives too. Knowledge is power and no-one can ever take it away from you.

All in all, Teachers ARE amazing, and selfless. They believe in making our society a better place to be.

So here is a thank you to all the teachers out there:

Wilma Rudolph

I found this quote the other day; “Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. We are all the same in this notion: The potential for greatness lives within each of us.” -Wilma Rudolph.

This quote particularly caught my attention. For the past two years, I have read aloud the book called Wilma Unlimited to my third grade students, when we were studying biographies. Wilma’s story is a story of determination and a burning desire. For those of you who don’t know the story read on while I share.
